The 26th issue of the "Newsletter of Environmental, Disaster, and Crisis Management Strategies", published under the auspices of the Postgraduate Program "Environmental, Disaster and Crisis Management Strategies" of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, summarizes the first scientific data and conclusions emerged from the volcanic activity of Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands in September-October 2021, including data collected by the Greek scientific mission on the island of La Palma..
The issue entitled "The 2021 Cumbre Vieja Volcano Eruption in La Palma (Canary Islands)" is the result of a fruitful collaboration and exchange of knowledge between Geologists, Volcanologists, Oceanographers, Biologists and Photojournalists who captured the eruption and its effect on the daily life of the island.
The information refers to volcanic activity from its onset on September 19 to October 10, 2021. Much additional information will be forthcoming as volcanic activity continues unabated.
